The supervisory circuits of the TPS3808G01MDBVTEP microprocessor monitor system voltages from 0.4 V to 5.0 V, issuing an open-drain RESET signal when the SENSE voltage falls below a predefined threshold or when the manual reset (MR) pin becomes logic low. After the SENSE voltage and manual reset (MR) return over their respective thresholds, the RESET output remains low for the user-adjustable delay time.
To achieve 0.5 percent threshold accuracy for VIT 3.3 V, the TPS3808G01MDBVTEP uses a precision reference. The reset delay period can be modified to 20 milliseconds by disconnecting the CT pin, 300 milliseconds by connecting the CT pin to VDD via a resistor, or 1.25 milliseconds to 10 milliseconds by connecting the CT pin to an external capacitor. With a typical quiescent current of 2.4 A, the TPS3808G01MDBVTEP is well-suited to battery-powered applications. It comes in a compact SOT-23 packaging and is completely defined for temperatures between –55°C and +125°C (TJ).
